OPTIMIZING SOUND ON FLASH **help**

Posted by WAaAzZAaA Oct. 24, 2009 @ 9:24 PM EDT

soo i need some help.

when i import a sound on flash, song or voice recording,
i insert it in the time line, i clic ENTER so i can hear it on stream,
everything is fine, it sounds perfect.

BUUT, when i export the .swf, it sounds muffled or strange.
IT IS UNDERSTANDABLE AND ALL, but, i.e., a song,
doesnt have the same....kick to it.
It just bugs me off.

Can someone please tell me
what are the best formats to use when importing songs,
what options do i change on flash,
stuff like that please.

SATURDAY NIGHT BABYYY
and the night is still young.

.

Because you didn't set the sound quality right.

Go on file > publish settings and then go on the flash tab.

On the flash stream, go and select ADPCM 44hz 5 bit for the stream part. There should be a drop down letting you do that.

thanks a bunch mate

I have had the same problem and if thundaboom's idea doesn't work, try putting your streamed sound in a movie clip and placing it there, with the correct amount of frames so that the whole sound plays.

go to file > publish settings > flash, then make sure under audio stream that it's set to these settings: MP3, 56 kbps, Mono. it doesn't have to be set to mono, but that's what I have mine set to... I suppose if you have audio that is louder in 1 speaker than in the other, you would set it to stereo...

exactly.
thanks for helping out

preferably import the audio at the highest quality possible. a WAV or AIF, or something to that effect.

when you export, set your audio to MP3 at reasonable bitrate like 128. if it's just talking you can go lower without any noticable quality drop, if you have some beautiful piano music you want to be enjoyed to it's fullest you can crank it up to 160.

flash always defaults it's export audio setting to something atrocious, so always remember to turn it up.

(this menu pops up after you select your save destination)

thanks for that piano example,
i supose that the higher bit rate means heavier .swf huh

That's the quality setting, you may have to change like everyone says. Later, if it desynchronize, you have to put the whole streaming sound in a movie clip and put it in a new layer for the whole animation.

Oct. 25, 2009 | 9:09 AM Sonucais says:

Oh yeah, I recommend 48 or 64kbps in stream and event, stereo if sounds/music has it. Good luck.

increase the stream audio quality...
